What Make Up Brands I Use

Everyone should experience luxury when having their makeup done! After all, it's a special occasion and you deserve to feel truly fabulous, from a wedding day to a day out on the town! That said, I don't think that any animals should be harmed for us to feel this good.

It's why I've been a cruelty-free makeup artist now for over 10 years. That means I won't support brands that sell in countries where animal testing is required for their products to be sold. No products in my kit have been tested on animals, and a very large portion of it is vegan too - which means that there are no animal derived ingredients used either.

Sadly there's a lot of brands out there that do still test on animals - Nars, MAC, Dior, Bobbi Brown, Benefit, L'Oreal, Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Arden, Elemis, Clinique, and Armarni, to name a few.

There's no need for animal testing in this day and age. You can absolutely have luxury products that are cruelty-free! I will always endeaver to go above and beyond to make sure the items in my kit will deliver impeccable results.

So here's a few brands that I keep in my kit that you can be assured also have good ethics!

Illamasqua - a good 75% of my kit comes from Illamasqua! I've been a customer of theirs since 2011. I adore their Skinbase foundation. I bang on about their ethics a lot in my 1-2-1 makeup lessons. They have a massive range of vegan products too!

Charlotte Tilbury - a relative newbie to CTilbs, but I do enjoy their lipsticks. You have to specifically search on their website for vegan products, where I'd rather be able to filter by them.

Urban Decay - You can't order from UD on their website anymore, which is sad as they used to have great deals there but they are readily available in Boots, and on Look Fantastic where you can get a whopping discount with my code, LFTFSALIMOO!

Soap and Glory - Known for their bodycare and now ever growing skincare range, I do still love a Soap & Glory makeup products. My personal favourite is their Defining Brow Crayon and Setting Gel which I use on my own brows. And I still adore the Sexy Motherpucker lip range!

Stila - Their "Eyes are the window" palette in Soul is one of my favourites, ever. EVER! It's up their with Urban Decay's Naked 1 and Naked 2. I bought five when they were discontinued and I have one left that's brand new. I still live in hope that they will one day bring it back...!

Eylure - Making my life forever easier by being always cruelty-free and vegan, Eylure also make some super amazing natural lashes and 3/4 ones. Brilliant for adding a little extra party to your makeup if you're not one for wearing lashes.

Too Faced - I adored their 24-Hour Eyeshadow Primer, but they changed the bottle which now makes it impossible to get all the product out of, so I don't use it, but I still reach for their Born This Way palette time and time again.

Tarte - Another brand with incredible products, and one of my favourite nude eyeshadow palettes. No makeup artist is without their cult product, Shapetape concealer. Try and see for yourself why everyone loves it!

ELF Cosmetics - I've been ordering from ELF since 2010... that's how long I've been doing makeup! They have been on quite a journey in that time (haven't we all?) and I still love their stuff for my 1-2-1 lessons. The value for money is incredible.

Nude by Nature - a newbie to my kit, but I'm enjoying their lipsticks a lot. They are a 100% naturally derived brand, and I like their foundation, brow pencils, and have numerous lip products from them!

VE Cosmetics - ran by the wonderful Lynsey, VE Cosmetics are fully cruelty-free and vegan. She has super strong brand values, and

Inglot - their Duraline is such a handy product to have in your kit, and I've been a fan of their gel eyeliner for years. That stuff is BULLETPROOF, nevermind cry-proof!

Delilah - Relatively new to my kit, but I've loved what I've used so far. And the whole range is cruelty-free AND vegan! I look forward to trying out a lot more.

Eyeko - has one of the best waterproof mascaras out there! It's super soft on the eyelashes, and it's super smooth.

The Body Shop - my OG for skincare! I know they've had their troubles recently with stores closing around the country, but I really hope the business survives. It's so affordable, they are so knowledgable, and their stuff is superb.

Nip & Fab - Glycolic Acid pads. Nuff said. They've saved my ass so many times! Disolving dry and dead skin, letting the lovely fresh stuff come through without scrubbing at your face.

The Ordinary - Some brilliant but affordable skincare, their stuff is great; the Natural Moisturising Factors is a staple in my kit for slaying dry skin and repairing the skin's natural hydration barrier. The instant hydration is provides has been a lifesaver.
